Established in 1805, Mitchell & Son Wine Merchants is Ireland’s oldest family-owned wine and spirits merchant. The company is renowned for its Spot Whiskeys, a distinguished line of single pot still Irish whiskeys.

Robert Mitchell, representing the seventh generation, will share the fascinating history of Spot Whiskey as we taste the exceptional lineup below, this is not to be missed!

Mitchell & Son traditionally marked their whiskeys with a daub or ‘spot’ of paint to indicate how long the barrels would mature:

  • Blue for 7 years
  • Green for 10 years
  • Yellow for 12 years
  • Red for 15 years

This tradition gave rise to the name Spot Whiskey.
